Rain relieves Dhaka city of sticky temp

A brief spell of moderate rain brought a long-awaited respite in many parts of Dhaka city on Friday evening after several days of sultry summer weather.
Different city areas like Paltan, Shahbagh, Karwan-bazar and Farmgate witnessed the rainfall.
Since most of the people were enjoying Friday's weekend holiday, the shower did not cause so trouble for them.
They welcomed rain on the second day of Ashar, the first of two months that make the rainy season in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, the Met office in its forecast light-to-moderate rain or thundershower, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, may occur in most places over Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions till Saturday morning.
Rain is also likely to fall at many places over Rangpur, Dhaka and Barishal divisions, according to the weathermen.
In its short-term forecast for Friday evening, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said Dhaka and its contiguous areas might witness rain or thundershower accompanied by temporary gusty winds.
Dhaka's maximum temperature was recorded at 35.5 degrees Celsius and minimum at 29.1 degrees, according to the BMD.
