Rain washes away 1st session on Day-3 in 2nd Test
Saturday, 1 August 2015
Rain has continued to wash out play in the second Test between Bangladesh and South Africa. The entire first session was wasted on Saturday, the third day of the five-day game. The start was scheduled for 9:30am but wet outfields due to morning drizzle and overnight rain forced play to be called off at Mirpur in Dhaka. Bangladesh and South African teams are yet to arrive at the ground from the hotel. The entire second day had washed away on Friday. Bangladesh were 246 for 8 after opting to bat first at the end of the first day’s play at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The hosts are looking to Nasir Hossain, who is unbeaten on 13, to take them to a decent total. The weather had also played spoilsport in the drawn first Test in Chittagong. Only 221 overs were bowled as rain curtailed play on the second and third days before washing out the last two days, according to a news agency.
