Rajan to deliver public lecture on Thursday

The Research Department of Bangladesh Bank will organise a public lecture on ‘Going Bust for Growth: Policies after the Global Financial Crisis’ by Dr. Raghuram G. Rajan, Governor, Reserve Bank of India at the Le Meridien Hotel in Dhaka at 7:00pm on June 11. Dr. Atiur Rahman, governor of Bangladesh Bank, will inaugurate the programme and deliver his welcome speech. Governors along with the delegates from the SAARC member central banks, high level officials of Bangladesh Bank, different ministries of the government, various research organisations and universities will participate in the event, said a central bank press release. At the function, the Indian reserve bank governor will delineate how the current system in international monetary policy is a source of substantial risk, both to sustainable growth as well as to the financial sector. At the same time, he will also highlight how to mitigate the source of risks through adoption of various policy measures in his deliberation, according to a news ageny.
