Rajshahi, Barisal earn second consecutive victory

Holders Barisal and Rajshahi Divisions registered their 2nd consecutive wins in the One-Day 12th National Cricket League at two neutral venues across the country Tuesday, reports UNB.
Also on Tuesday, Dhaka Division tasted the first victory in their 2nd match beating all-losers Sylhet Division by seven wickets at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
At Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, Rajshahi Division, riding on a Naeem Islam century, notched a huge 151-run victory over Chittagong Division today after their impressive 111-run win against Khulna Division in the inaugural match Saturday.
Sent into bat first in the day's match, Rajshahi Division posted 281 for 6 in stipulated 50 overs.
National colour middle order batsman Naeem Islam contributed not out 113 off 125 balls with six fours and four sixes and later took two wickets for seven runs to be adjudged man of the match.
Number five batsman Mushfiqur Rahman scored a polished 93 off 111 balls with eight boundaries.
In reply, Chittagong Division were dismissed for 136 in 38.5 overs with Nafees Iqbal and Aftab Ahmed making 34 and 30 runs respectively.
Brief score: Rajshahi Division - 281 for 6 in 50 overs; Naeem Islam no 113, Mushfiqur Rahman 93, Sabbir Rahman 26, Jahurul Islam 23, ectras 18, Nazmul Islam 3/48 and Mahmudul Hasan 2/32.

At Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, holders Barisal Division earned 19 runs victory over another all-loser Khulna Division.
Winning the toss, Barsial Division batted first and scored a moderate 252 runs for 5 in allocated 50 overs.
National cricketer Roquibul Hasan hammered another ton in the ongoing league with not out 101 runs off 99 balls with seven fours and two sixes and was adjudged man of the match.
In reply, Khulna Division fought hard but were all out for 233 in 48.2 overs with national colour Tushar Imran scoring 92 runs off 110 balls that featured five fours and four sixes.
Kamrul Islam grabbed four wickets for 43 runs in his seven over spell.

Sent into bat first at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi, Sylhet Division were dismissed cheaply for 158 runs in 46.1 overs.
In reply, Dhaka Division easily reached their target making 162 for 3 in 30.4 overs.
Former national skipper Mohammad Ashraful contributed unbeaten 66 runs off 52 balls with seven fours and two sixes and was adjudged man of the match.
