Rajshahi City Corporation takes 53 development schemes

RAJSHAHI, Oct 1 (UNB): Rajshahi City Corporation has taken up 53 development schemes aiming to develop the city as a modern one as well as to raise its earnings. Work on 50 percent of the schemes has already started while the rest will begin soon.
The schemes included improvement of power and water supply situation, renovation of roads, construction of a 15-storied commercial tower, establishment of three CNG gas stations, establishment of four modern residential areas, reopening of Rajshahi silk factory, establishment of some universities, medical colleges and hospitals, preservation of the river banks of Padma, establishment of seven mini parks on the bank of river Padma and building up of playground and park.
Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said if all the schemes are implemented Rajshahi will be turned into a modern city.
