Rajshahi crush Barisal Division, Khulna-Ctg match drawn

Rajshahi Division registered an emphatic eight-wicket win over Barisal Division on the 4th day of the 2nd round four-day match of Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 9th National Cricket League at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium Monday, reports UNB.
With the day's win, Rajshai Division dominates the league table securing 30 points while Barisal Division collected 18 points after the second round completion.
Earlier, replying to Rajshahi Division's 1st innings score of 301 for all, Barisal Division were forced to follow on as they scored 87 runs for all in the first innings and resumed their second innings Monday with overnight score of 216 for 9 and were all out for 222 runs giving a nine-run small winning target.
Chasing the target, the host reached their winning target scoring nine runs for two wickets in 2.5 overs with opener Jahirul Islam scoring five runs.
Talha Jubair and Sajedul Islam took one wicket each for three and four runs respectively.
Khaled Masud of Rajshahi Division was adjudged man of the match.
In the day's another four-day match between Khulna Division and Chittagong Division ended in a draw on the 4th and last day at the Bir Shreshtho Shaheed Matiur Rahman Stadium in Khulna.
With the day's feat, Khulna Division improved their position with 23 points while Chittagong bagged total eight points after the second round completion.
Chasing the winning target of 367, visiting Chittagong resumed their second innings today with overnight score of 25 for none in 12 overs and scored 252 for seven in 103 overs at stumps on the day.
Overnight batsmen -- Tamim Iqbal (81) and his elder bother Nafees Iqbal (27) -- contributed 51 runs to opening partnership before separation.
Nazimuddin made 56 runs, while Faisal Hossain added 48 runs. Ashiqur Rahman and Tareq Aziz were batting with 5 and 2 runs respectively as the bails were drawn for the day.
Ziaur Rahman, Syed Rasel and Mashrafee Bin Mortaza hauled two wickets each for 20, 59 and 67 runs respectively.
Shakib Al Hasan of Khulna was adjudged man of the match.
