Rajshahi emerge as title contender beating Khulna Division

One-day champions Rajshahi Division also emerged as strong title contender in the four-day Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 9th National Cricket League beating league leaders Khulna Division by 29 runs in a 9th round match at Rajshahi Divisional Stadium Sunday, reports UNB.
In the day's other two 9th round matches, Barisal Division crushed Sylhet Division by an innings and 34 runs at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra while holders Dhaka Division settled for a draw against Chittagong Division at Bir Shrestho Ruhul Amin Stadium in Chittagong.
Despite the day's defeat, Khulna Division maintained their lead intact narrowly with 96 points, closely followed by fresh one-day league champions Rajshahi Division who secured 95 points.
Holders Dhaka Division advanced to the 3rd slot collecting 87 points, Chittagong Division went down to the 4th place with 83 points, Barisal Division remained at 5th place having 75 points while Sylhet Division remained at bottom with 53 points.
At the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium, Khulna Division, which inexplicably declared the first innings at 151 for 9, resumed the 2nd innings today with overnight 56 for 2 and were all out for 292 in 99.4 overs to concede a 29-run defeat.
Middle order batsman Jamaluddin Babu contributed 86 runs off 178 balls with eight boundaries while top order Mustafizur Rahman added 57 runs off 90 balls with nine fours.
Saqlain Sajib caused the major damage to Khulna innings grabbing six wickets for 101 runs and was adjudged man of the match.
Earlier, Rajshahi Division scored 188 runs in the first innings and 284 runs in the second innings.
At the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, Barisal Division inflicted a humiliating innings and 34-run defeat upon lowly Sylhet Division.
Sylhet Division, having 183 runs in the first innings, resumed the second innings today with overnight 4 for 2 and bundled out for 166 runs in 62 overs.
Imtiaz Hossain (1) contributed 57 runs off 124 balls with six fours and a six, while middle order Golam Mabud also scored 57 runs off 112 balls with nine fours.

Arafat Salahuddin, who bagged three wickets in the first innings, claimed five wickets for 44 runs in the second innings and was adjudged man of the match.
Monir Hossain took three wickets for 51 runs.
At the Bir Shrestho Ruhul Amin Stadium in Chittagong, hosts Chittagong Division, bundled out cheaply for 98 runs in the first innings, resumed their second innings today with 259 for 4 and made a good come back scoring huge 436 runs in 165.3 overs.
Opener Masumuddowla (overnight 100 runs) finally scored 118 runs off 366 balls with 18 boundaries to be adjudged man of the match.
Another night watch batsman cum skipper Ehsanul Haque Sezan (51) contributed polished 117 runs off 265 balls with 10 fours and a six, enabling Chittagong to escape defeat.
Mosharraf Hossain Rubel captured three wickets for 109 runs while Arafat Sunny took two for 79 runs.
Chasing a target of 219 runs, Dhaka Division, which scored 316 runs in the first innings, opened the second innings this (Sunday) afternoon and scored 130 for 4 in 21.4 overs when bails were drawn for the fourth and final day to settle for a draw.
