Rajshahi will be developed through collective efforts: Land minister

RAJSHAHI, Feb 28(BSS): Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu has said Rajshahi will be developed through the combined efforts of all, in line with the expectations of the people.
He stated that the development plan would be undertaken by involving the people as well as the four elected Members of Parliament from the BNP.
He also warned that appropriate legal action would be taken against anyone who obstructs the return to a peaceful environment, ensuring stability through due process.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a greeting exchange event organised by the Rajshahi Citizens Committee at a community center in Saheb Bazar of Rajshahi On Saturday.
The minister further said that around 16 institutions are affiliated with his ministry. He expressed his commitment, as a son of the soil, to coordinate all these institutions and work for the development of Rajshahi and the country as a whole.
Land Minister Minu also mentioned plans to develop Rajshahi city into a beautiful and well-planned urban center.
He noted that during the BNP tenure, gas lines were installed and launched in Rajshahi, and assured that gas connections would be restored again. He added that there are plans to revive sick industrial enterprises in the region.
The minister said that silk is a promising industry in Rajshahi. Measures will be taken to promote this sector, and discussions will be held with foreign investors to establish an Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Rajshahi.
He also assured that the BNP would implement the 31-point outline announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to ensure nationwide development, and that Rajshahi's development would be carried out in line with that framework.
Minu pledged to visit Rajshahi every week and engage directly with the people.
"Together, we will move the country forward," he said, adding that special emphasis would be placed on advancing computer technology and fully utilizing the IT sector to create employment opportunities and build a skilled youth population in Rajshahi.
