Managing Director of Ha-Meem Group AK Azad said a team of RAJUK (Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha) started demolishing his house located in the city's Gulshan area at around 10 am on Tuesday, assigning the reason for "not having any valid design of the house."
"Despite showing all the valid documents, the RAJUK team did not take cognisance of those and a portion of the house was torn apart by 1:0pm on the day" said Mr Azad, a former president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), in a statement on Tuesday.
The demolishing, however, was stopped after he showed all the valid documents including the approved design and mutation of the home to the RAJUK chairman, according to the statement.
