RAKUB Joypurhat branch disburses Tk 530m

JOYPURHAT, June 03: The Joypurhat branch of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) disbursed Tk 530 million (53 corers) among 12,046 farmers in the running 2009-2010 fiscal while the disbursement target was 620 million. They recovered 310 million against the set target of 520 million. In the last 2008-2009 fiscal, the branch disbursed 570 million and the recovery was 82 per cent of the set target of 530 million.
According to the branch office, 190 million were disbursed among 7560 farmers for crop cultivation, 30 million among 650 persons for livestock, 10 million among 71 persons for fishery, 20 million were disbursed among 39 persons for the purchase and maintenance of agri-machinery, 20 million among 81 persons under SME, 160 million was disbursed among 552 persons as working capital and 100 million were given for miscellaneous purposes among 3095 persons.
RAKUB Joypurhat Branch Manager Mohammad Abdul Wasek said they disbursed agri-loan among poor farmers and poultry growers. They had also built a poultry village in Jamalganj area under Joypurhat Sadar and Akkelpur Upazila. Most of the farmers and poultry growers had become solvent after investing the agri-loan, he added.
