RAKUB to disburse Tk 470m agri-loan in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Aug 11 (BSS): Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) will disburse Tk 470 million (47 crore) agri-loan among the flood-hit farmers of the district during the current fiscal as part of post-flood rehabilitation programme of the bank.
The proposed money will be disbursed among the farmers through the branches of the district, sources said.
The money would be spent for buying Aman and other seeds and seedlings.
While talking to the news agency, General Manager of RAKUB M Hanif said the amount of loan might be increased further in case of demands by the farmers.
DAE sources said seedbeds of Aman paddy on 1,881 hectares of land, standing Aman paddy on 1,200 hectares, vegetables on 804 hectares, jute 3,737 on hectares and other crops on 639 hectares have been badly damaged by the raging flood.
