Rally Bros jute press resumes operations

KHULNA, May 22: The so-long closed Rally Brothers Jute Press at Rallygate area under Daulatpur thana of the town has resumed operation under private management. The Jute Press started its operation Saturday in the new name of Dhaka Trading House Limited. In this connection, an inaugural function was held at its premises. State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Shufian inaugurated the jute press as chief guest. Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque spoke as special guest. The function was addressed among others by Managing Director of Dhaka Trading House Limited Al-Haj Tipu Sultan, renowned jute traders Sharif Fazlur Rahman, Al-Haj Sarwar Khan, KCC Councillor Maksud Hassan Piku and labour leader Molla Muzibur Rahman. The function was presided over by the Chairman of Dhaka Trading House Limited AKM Barkatullah. It may be mentioned that the state run Rally Brothers Jute Press was closed in 1999 for incurring loss. After 12 years, the press has been leased out to the Dhaka Trading House Limited for 99 years.
