Ramendu Majumdar elected World ITI president

Ramendu Majumdar, a noted actor and president of Bangladesh Centre of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), has been elected the new worldwide president of this largest theatre network of the world.
The election took place Thursday during the 32nd World Congress of ITI being held in Madrid.
Christina Babou Pagourelli of Greece and Ali Mahdi of Sudan were elected vice-presidents.
After election of the 20 new members of the executive council for 2008-2010, the members of the excom unanimously elected Ramendu Majumdar the next president.
The congress where a 12-member delegation from Bangladesh is participating will end today (Saturday), according to a press release.
