R&H engineer arrested for taking bribe

MYMENSINGH, June 21 (bdnews24.com): Joint forces arrested a roads and highways engineer, Mohammad Bayezid, in Mymensingh Wednesday.
Colonel Iqbal of the joint forces alleged that Bayezid had demanded a Tk .50 million bribe from road contractor Syed Mojibar Rahman.
This was apparently to facilitate the acceptance of a Tk 30 million bill, due for constructing the Sherpur to Sribardi road.
Dipak Majumdar, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station, said Bayezid had been handed over to them after arrest.
