Rampant graft in promotion, choice posting in health sector

Focusing the widespread corruption in the country’s health sector, a new study of the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) shows professionals and officials of the health sector allegedly pay Tk 0.5-1.0 million under the table to get promotion through the departmental promotion committee. Illegal exchange of money is a common phenomenon in hiring ad-hoc physicians and officials of the sector, according to the TIB study, a news agency said.
