Rampant theft in Syedpur rly workshop

NILPHAMARI, Apr 9: Syedpur railway workshop has turned a venue for rampant theft which is going on unabated. A syndicate of thieves are engaged in the theft and they sell the stolen materials to the spare parts shops across Syedpur town. Sources said there are more than 104 spare parts shops of discarded materials in the town who purchase the theft materials to sell those in Dhaka and others big cities. The waste spare parts shops are located in Darmapatti, Kolahati, Burma-shell, Hatikhana, Sutkimore, Guardpara, Aminmore, Golahat, Hawaldarpara, Rangpur Road, Islambag, Mistripara, Shahebpara and Kamarpukur areas. The workshop was built on 110 hectares of land during the British rule.
