Rangpur AL leader receives death threat

A leader of the Rangpur city unit of Awami League (AL) has received a death threat. Locals and family members said unidentified miscreants threatened Rangpur city unit AL general secretary Tushar Kanti Mondal over his mobile phone. When contacted Tushar said he received the threat through two messages sent to his mobile phone on Thursday night. One of the messages reads: ‘You and all of your family members will be killed if you do excess’ while the other says: ‘You along with other family members will be finished if Chhatra League city committee is suspended.’ Confirming the death threat, officer-in-charge of Rangpur Kotwali Police Station Abdul Kader Zilani said 2 general diaries were filed in this connection. He also said efforts are on to identify the persons behind the death threat, according to a news agency.
