Rangpur Sugar Mills expects 5,075 tonnes of sugar production

GAIBANDHA, Dec 5 (BSS): Rangpur Sugar Mills Limited (RSML) has set a target to produce 5,075 tonnes of sugar by crushing 70,000 tonnes of sugarcane during the current sugar season, officials said here Tuesday.
They said 7,500 acres of lands were brought under sugarcane cultivation during the current season for achieving the target.
Seed, fertiliser and other inputs worth about Tk 1,76,80,000 were distributed among 700 sugarcane growers on easy term under a loan investment programme, said RSML General Manager (Agri) AKM Habibur Rahman Khan.
Besides, he said, a cash amount of Tk 31,20,000 was distributed among the growers for preparation of lands and seed carrying.
