Rare glory for Bangladesh
Sunday, 24 August 2014
We do not often read positive news about Bangladesh in the foreign media. So I was glad to know that Bangladesh's eminent artist Shahabudin Ahmed has received one of the highest honours in arts and literature 'Knight in the Order of the Arts' from France. It is indeed an honour for every Bangladeshi.
Shahabuddin Ahmed was born in Dhaka and he studied at the Institute of Fine Arts here. Later, he moved to Paris when he received a scholarship. He has received many awards including Shadinota Padak in 2000 at home. His paintings have been prominently displayed in many world famous painting galleries and sold worldwide .I am sure his works project our country positively abroad.
Gradually Bangladesh is coming up and it is indeed good to see our country being admired and respected in outside world. The works of Shahbuddin have been extensively shown around the world. Ours is a gifted country as we have no dearth of talents.
We congratulate Shahbuddin Ahmed for bringing such an honour for us and hope he will continue creating masterpieces in the field of arts.
