Rashly driven truck kills man in Manikganj

A middle-aged man was killed as a recklessly driven truck crashed into him at Paturia ferry ghat (jetty) in Manikganj on Saturday. The deceased Abul Kalam, 45, was a ticket seller (lascar) at the ferry ghat and a resident of Matlab upazila of Chandpur district. Police said a truck ran into Kalam at about 11:30 pm on Friday night as he was selling tickets in the ghat while the driver was taking a turn of his vehicle, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Uthali Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed to his injuries at about 5:15 am on Saturday. Police arrested truck driver, Khairul. A case was filed, according to UNB.
