Raziuddin calls for foiling all anti-state conspiracies

RAJSHAHI, Mar 27 (BSS): Minister for Post and Telecommunications Raziuddin Ahmed Razu here today urged all to forge unity against conspirators who are hatching conspiracies against the nation and also against the present democratic government.
In this context, he also said a deep-rooted conspiracy has been going on with an ulterior motive of making the nation ineffective and termed the Pilkhana BDR carnage as part of long conspiracies.
He noted that this is the high time to resist the conspiracies to safeguard the hard-earned independence, democracy and sovereignty of the nation and said the patriotic people should remain alert against the conspirators.
The minister was addressing the inaugural ceremony of a biennial council session and election to Bangladesh Postmen and Postal Employees' Union in the conference hall of Postal Academy as the chief guest.
Mayor of Rajshahi AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and Fazley Hossain Badsha MP, also addressed the ceremony as special guests.
With the local circle president of the union Sadakatur Rahman in the chair, central committee president Shahidulla Dulal and general secretary Amjad Ali Khan, Postal Academy Principal Shudhangsu Shekhor Bhadra and council convener Shahinul Islam also spoke on the occasion.
The minister said importance should be given to modernising the postal department for the sake of returning its lost legacy that is very important for the welfare of the staff and employees of the department.
Stressing the need for enhancing the quality of service, he said people's confidence in the postal service must be reestablished for its effective existence in the present competitive era.
Responding to various demands raised by the union leaders, the minister viewed that uninterrupted and successful functioning of all government activities is the precondition to meet up the demands.
He said the present government is very much positive about ensuring welfare of the common people as it has come to power with a massive mandate of the people.
