RBH employees seek job security

FE Report | Wednesday, 28 May 2014

Employees of Ruposhi Bangla Hotel (RBH) demanded Tuesday job security during renovation of the hotel.
Speaking at a seminar they demanded that all job facilities to employees should continue during the renovation work that begins in September next.
The RBH workers' union organised the programme at the hotel's Winter Garden.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu attended the programme as chief guest and said RBH renovation was a timely demand but there will be no compromise about job security of the workers at the hotel.
He assured the employees that during the renovation work not a single employee would lose his job and he would discuss the matter with the prime minister.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said, "In recent times we have to be competitive with some of the five-star hotels. As a result, RBH renovation has become necessary for rendering better service".
He said according to the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with RBH and InterContinental, nobody would lose his job and their wages and other facilities would continue.
Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan said the present government did not like unemployment so employees of RBH should not be afraid of losing job.
