RCC announces Tk 10.09b budget

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has announced a proposed budget of Tk 10.09 billion (Tk 1,009.66 crore) for the fiscal year 2026-27. No new taxes have been imposed on city dwellers in the proposed budget, according to a press release.
RCC Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton formally announced the annual budget at a press conference held at Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday.
Riton described the proposed budget as a pro-development one.
He said the proposed budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year was Tk 8.06 billion (Tk 806.61 crore), which was later revised to Tk 9.34 billion (Tk 934.52 crore). He further informed that RCC achieved 108.5 per cent success in administering measles-rubella vaccines and 100.38 per cent success in administering Vitamin A capsules to children.
Among others, the press conference was attended by RCC chief executive officer Rezaul Karim, assistant director of fire service and civil defence Abdur Razzak, RCC budget and accounts officer Shafiqul Islam Khan, superintending engineer Ahmed Al Main Porag, Chief Revenue Officer Abu Saleh Nur-e-Said, and chief health officer Dr. F.A.M. Anjuman Ara Begum.
