RCC mayor submits wealth statement

RAJSHAHI, Aug 10: Mayor of the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Mizanur Rahman Minu has submitted his wealth statement of Tk 11.50 million through the jail authorities.
The Anti-corruption Comm-ission (ACC) through a notice on July 23 last asked Minu to submit his, his wife's and his daughter's wealth statement.
Minu sought seven-day extra time to furnish the same.
At the last day of the deadline allowed, Minu submitted his and his family members' wealth statement Thursday.
According to sources, in his wealth statement, the mayor mentioned he owns Tk 6.0 million that he drew as salary and allowances during his mayorship, Tk 5.30 million as the price of five Katha of government allocated land in Gulshan, a car worth Tk 3.50 million, 15 Bigha of paternal lands.
His wife Salma Sahadat owns Tk 1.5 million in cash that she earned as salaries and allowances as a college teacher and as an NGO worker, a house, an Emma Scooter, 14 Bigha of land and some shares of various banks.
The jail authorities have confirmed the submission but no wealth statement was submitted for mayor's minor daughter.
