RCC starts garbage removal programme

RAJSHAHI, Apr 17 (BSS): Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Friday started a garbage removal programme in the city to prevent possible water logging during rainy season.
With the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank, the programme was launched through removal of wastages from a drain at Gonokpara area this morning in presence of Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton.
Panel Mayor Shariful Islam Babu, Ward Councilor Bilkish Banu, Chief Engineer Ashraful Haque, Executive Engineer Nur Islam, Assistant Shamsuddin Haider were also present.
Mayor Liton asked the officials concerned to remove garbage and mud from the city's drainage system within three days.
