RCC to construct 7km more new drains in Rajshahi metropolis

RAJSHAHI, Aug 10 (BSS): Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has been constructing seven kilometres of new drains in the metropolis aimed at removing its water logging problems at an estimated cost of Tk 230 million.
Mayor Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul visited Sunday some of the construction sites like Bilsimla, Boharampur and railway gate to see for himself the progress of the work.
RCC Ward Councillors Habibur Rahman, Muhammad Tutul and Nasira Begum and Executive Engineer Nur Islam Tusser, among others, were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Bulbul asked all concerned to render their services with utmost sincerity and honesty so that the project work is executed properly.
He asserted that the city corporation is committed to implement its uplift programmes inĀ  a transparent and accountable manner.
In addition, he said the standard of all the uplift works of the city corporation is being monitored and controlled strictly and asserted that the officials and others concerned who will be found guilty in any corruption and irregularity will not go unpunished.
