RCC to face public before budget formulation

RAJSHAHI, Apr 23 (BSS): Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is going to face the public before formulating its annual budget for the next 2014-15 fiscal to reflect the hopes and aspirations of the city dwellers in the budget.
The event will be held at different places like Rajshahi Chamber Bhaban, Helenabad Colony ground, Bhuban Mohan Park, Seroil Colony Ground and Talaimari Shaheed Minar premises in coming month.
Conscious Citizens Committee (CCC), a sister organization of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), will support the event.
The RCC and CCC jointly revealed this after holding a pre-budget coordination meeting held at the city bhaban on Tuesday afternoon with city mayor Mosaddique Hossain Bulbul in the chair.
CCC Vice-presidents Akbarul Hassan Millat and Munira Rahman Mithi and Members Joytuna Khatun, Advocate Abdus Samad, Kamarullah Sarker and Kolpona Roy Bhowmik, RCC Panel Mayors Nuruzzaman Tito and Nurun Nahar Begum, Secretary AKM Masuduzzaman, Cheif Revenue Officer Syeda Zebin Nissa Sultana and Chief Health Officer Dr Anzuman Ara Begum were present at the meeting.
On the occasion, Mayor Bulbul said the city corporation is very much interested to hear the public views and opinions before formulating the budget so that their needs are reflected properly. He viewed face the public events will be the effective tools for gathering the citizens' views.
