RCCI for resolving problems to boost regional trade

RANGPUR, Jan 15 (BSS): Leaders of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) have called for resolving some prevailing problems to boost trade, commerce and economic activities to accelerate development in the region.
They came up with the call at an exchange of views meeting at RCCI boardroom in the northern divisional city, according to a press release.
President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu presided over the event. Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Shubhasish Basu, Joint Secretary of the ministry Badrul Hasan Babul, Rangpur Divisional Deputy Director of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection Khondker Mohammad Nurul Amin, RCCI Senior Vice-president Moztoba Hossain Ripan, exporters and importers Mogreb Ali, Humayun Kabir Saodagar, Alhaj Moyen Uddin, Officer-in- Charge at local office of the Controller of Imports and Exports Shafiul Alam, other officials the commerce ministry, RCCI leaders, industrialists, entrepreneurs, traders and businesspersons of Rangpur region also participated in the programme and spoke.
The speakers called for developing the roads at Burimari and Banglabandha land ports to four-lane and extension of transshipment yards and setting up testing laboratories and reducing handling charges at these land ports. They suggested for quicker activation of BBIN (Bangladesh Bhutan India Nepal) road connectivity, setting up offices of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and Joint Stocks Companies and Firms at Rangpur.
