RAJSHAHI, Sept 18: The executives of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) have requested through posters and advertisements the business communities of the district to use energy saving bulbs to save electricity.
Recently the top ranking officers of the 11th Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army organised a seminar at Bogra cantonment aiming at reducing the wasting of electricity in Bogra, Natore, Pabna, Chapainababganj, Rajshahi, Naogaon, Kushtia, Meherpur and Chuadanga districts.
Representatives from PDB, REB, PBS, BMDA and other organisations relating to the PDB and various business bodies were present at the seminar.
All participants, on principle, decided that, before November 30 the incandescent light bulbs and tube lights in all government and non-government offices, shops and other industrial organisations will be replaced by energy saving light bulbs.
The officials said this would play a crucial role in decreasing load-shedding and improving the economy of the country as well as saving huge power consumption. They also requested the government to decrease the price of energy saving light bulbs.
