Reach health services to doorsteps of people: Nasim

Urging the leaders of doctors’ associations not to engage in lobbying to avail themselves of undue government facilities, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on Saturday sought their cooperation in ensuring physicians’ presence in rural hospitals. “Cooperate with the government in achieving its goal to reach the health services to the doorsteps of people. Don’t engage in undue lobbying. If anyone does so, then we’ll have to think that he or she doesn’t believe in the politics of Bangabandhu and Awami League,” he said. Nasim, also a presidium member of the ruling Awami League, said this while addressing a discussion marking the laying of foundation stone of a project to upgrade Sirajganj Sadar Hospital to a 250-bed one from the existing 100 beds. The Health Minister said, “It can’t be accepted that the patients will return home from hospitals due to the negligence of doctors or get deprived of medicines, according to a news agency.
