Recent floods damage crops worth Tk 1.367b in RAZ

RANGPUR, Sept 10 (BSS): The recent flash floods damaged standing crops including T-Aman and vegetables worth Tk 1.367 billion in Rangpur Agriculture Zone (RAZ), official sources in the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) said Monday.
According to DAE sources in the office of the Additional Director of RAZ, the damages were reported from Rangpur, Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Kurigram and Dinajpur and no damages were reported from Thakurgaon and Panchagarh districts under the RAZ.
T-Aman crops on 30,324 hectares land were damaged with total damages on 9,846 hectares while vegetables and other crops on 901 hectares land were damaged affecting 2,20,173 farmers' families in these six districts by the recent floods, the sources said.
