The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples 2014 was celebrated across the country on Saturday as elsewhere across the globe with a call for implementing indigenous people’s rights. The theme of this year’s day was ‘Bridging the gap: Implementing the rights of indigenous peoples’. Various organisations of indigenous people held elaborate programmes, including rallies, discussions, exhibitions and cultural shows, in the capital marking the day, according to a news agency.
