Record revenue realised in B'baria

BRAHMANBARIA, Aug 26: The Tax Commission (Ashuganj and Brahmanbaria circle) of the district realised a record amount of revenue of more than Tk 232.00 million (Tk 23.20 crore) in the fiscal 2007-2008 against the target of Tk 192.00 million. The rate of the revenue growth was 108 per cent, official sources said.

Ashuganj and Brahmanbaria circle of the Tax Commission comprises Kasba, Akhaura, Nabinagar, Bancharampur, Ashuganj, Sarail, Nasirnagar and Sadar upazilas.

The tax department realised the revenue from businessmen, development institutions and salaries of the employees of different state-owned and private organisations.
