Red carpet rolls out for Hasina in China

A red carpet was rolled out as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in China’s south-eastern city of Kunming on Friday. The Prime Minister arrived in Kunming on the 1st leg of her 6-day official visit to China during which both the countries are expected to complete negotiations on the construction of a deep seaport at Sonadia in Cox’s Bazar. A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG) at 11:25am (local time). Bangladesh Ambassador to China Azizul Haque and Yunnan Province Vice Governor Mme. Li Jiang received the Prime Minister at Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG). The Prime Minister was also presented a bouquet at the airport. From the airport, Hasina was taken to Green Lake Hotel in a ceremonial motorcade where she will be staying during her visit in Kunming from where she will later go to Beijing, according to a news agency.
