Reducing university admission fee
Wednesday, 8 June 2022
Some 32 general, engineering, agriculture, and science and technology public universities will have uniform admission tests for enrolling undergraduate students this year. No doubt, this kind of admission tests helps students apply for a number of universities with less hassle and hardship. However, the decision to surge the application fees by 25 per cent for the integrated admission test can be anything but fair. It has been decided that the application fee for admission in the first year of bachelor in the coming academic year will be increased to Tk 1,500. Last year this fee was Tk 1,200.
Admission test is part of the responsibilities of the university administration, teachers and employees. Therefore, it should never be seen as a source of income. So, we call on the universities to reduce the admission fee.
