The National Crafts Council of Bangladesh (NCCB) has organised a special crafts event Sunday for the first time in Bangladesh on the unique back strap weaving of the indigenous peoples.

UNDP Resident Representative Renata Dessallien and representative of Bohmong chief Chw Hia Prue Jimmy were special guests. UNDP's CHTDF Policy and Confidence Building Chief Presenjit Chakma gave project presentation.

Experts from participating countries will make presentations on the historical background and present status of this weaving tradition in their countries. They will address the present problem of back strap production and recommend accordingly.
