Regional, corporate branch managers confce of Pubali Bank held

Hafiz Ahmed Majumder, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pubali Bank, laid emphasis on expansion of foreign remittance business through better customer and modern banking service.
He was the chief guest at the first conference for the year 2010 of regional and corporate branch managers of the bank at its head office in the city Saturday, according to a press release.
Chaired by Pubali Bank Managing Director Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, the meeting was addressed, among others, by
its directors Giashuddin Ahamed, Monzurur Rahman and Syed Moazzem Hussain, and Alternative Director Kabiruzzaman Yakub as special guests.
Mr Majumder advised all to work hard, look for new business avenues and diversification and to take concerted efforts for achieving the target fixed for the year 2010.
The directors underscored the need for increased utilisation of the modern information technology (IT) for qualitative improvement in the overall customer service of the bank as it has to operate in a highly competitive banking sector.
The bank's managing director expressed his satisfaction at the Bank's performance for the year 2009 which he attributed to the professional approach and due diligence of all.
He stressed on selection of potential borrowers and expansion of bank business.
He urged upon all the executives to keep close vigilance so that newly disbursed loans may not become overdue or classified. Intensive supervision and close monitoring of the loan should be made.
The bank's business performance for the year of 2009 was evaluated in the meeting and necessary strategies and plans were framed to achieve the target fixed for the year 2010.
