Regional Head of StanChart due today

Mr. Hemant Mishr, Head of Global Markets, South Asia and Co-Head of Wholesale Bank, India for Standard Chartered Bank arrives in Dhaka today (Tuesday) for a brief official visit.
During this two-day visit he will meet senior officials of Bangladesh Bank, Ministry of Finance and several external stakeholder of Standard Chartered Bank.
As a member of the Wholesale Banking leadership team, he is jointly accountable for the Wholesale Strategic leadership and performance, and corporate governance. He manages the largest and most profitable dealing room in India. This encompasses Trading and Sales across asset class like Fixed Income, Credit, Commodities and Equity.
In addition, he is also responsible for Debt Capital Markets and management of the bank's balance sheet. He also has governance responsibility for Research, Corporate Advisory, Project Finance, Structured Trade Finance and Alternative Investment Group.
As a part of the India management team, his wider responsibilities involve overall country strategy, attending various business forums and public engagements focused at raising the profile of the Bank within the region. This also encompasses brand and reputation development through its CSR activities.
Prior to the current role, he managed the Financial Markets Client business of Standard Chartered Bank for South Asia covering both Corporate and Institutional Sale. He was responsible for the expansion of the teams and broad diversification across multiple products.
