Registration of 186 co-op societies cancelled

KHULNA, Apr 21: Khulna Cooperative Department has cancelled registration of 186 cooperative societies during the last 21 months due to their inactivity for long time, various irregularities and violating cooperative act.
Khulna District Cooperative office source said that a total 3,138 cooperative societies have been registered form Khulna district.
Of them 3,116 societies are primary cooperative and 22 central cooperative societies and 45 cooperative societies have been registered in the current financial year till March-31, 2015.
Source said that the registration of 186 societies has been cancelled. Of them 47 societies in Sadar Upazila, 17 in Digholia Upazila, 29 in Batiaghata Upazila, 8 in Dacop Upazila, 33 in Paikgacha Upazila and 52 in Dumuria Upazila.
