Registration of Ctg port freight forwarders made mandatory

CHITTGONG, June 11: The customs authority said the licence holding freight forwarders operating at Chittagong Port must be registered to get benefit from the electronic automation system.

It was suggested at the orientation programme on the automation system being implemented at Chittagong Customs House (CCH).

The programme was held at Chittagonng Port Training Centre auditorium Monday for ensuring dynamism and accountability in taxation.

The freight forwarders were also reminded that they should have own storage facility (godown) or they can avail storage facility executing agreement with the off docks.

Task Force-B Commander Brigadier General Hasan Nasir was present at the meeting as chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion Hasan Nasir said earnest co-peration of the concerned quarters is a must for deriving benefit of the devised system.

Leaders of the freight forwarders' organisation present in the meeting, commited to extend their co-operation towards the initiative.

Chittagong Customs Commisioner (Import) Md Nasiruddin, Bangladesh Freifgt Forwarders' Association President Helaluddin and International Freight Forwarders' Association of Bangladesh President Badrul Hoque Chowdhury attended the meeting, among others.
