The fair will remain open for all from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on all days and the visitors will enter the fair with single and multiple entry tickets at Tk 50 and Tk 100 respectively per ticket.
The fair also includes cycle rally in the morning of March 13 and art competition for children on March 15. On March 17, the REHAB Chattogram Fair committee will observe National Children's Day on the occasion of the 99th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin will attend the Children's Day as chief guest while commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Mahbubur Rahman will address as special guest.
Mr. Kauiam Chowdhury said they have a target of real estate business worth Tk 5.0 billion in the fair and have 5,000 flats and 2,000 plots for sale.
He demanded allotment of Tk 200 billion as loan at low interest rate for the real estate sector.
He said that a total of 56 companies in 76 stalls, including seven from building materials and 11 from different banks and financial institutions, will join this year's Chattogram fair.
In the written statement, he said the real estate sector has been working for house ownership for the people for the last two decades apart from contributing to 269 linkage industries like rod, cement, tiles etc., and earning huge revenue for the government.
He alleged that the authorities concerned often raise questions about the sources of money invested in buying flats and apartments while question does not arise about the huge amount of money being drained out from the country for the "second home" project in different countries, including Malaysia, Singapore and Canada.
The construction sector is playing an important role in the national economic development and growth, and the government should come forward to flourish the real estate sector, he said.
Mr. Kauiam said the construction sector's contribution to the national economic growth would be almost 15 per cent and 20 million people of the country are dependent on 3.5 million employees working in the sector.
