FE Report
The first ever housing fair of Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) in Italy concluded on Monday attracting a good number of Bangladeshi living in that country.
Some 42 developers and five financial institutions attended the three-day fair with their products and services. The fair was held at Radisson SAS Hotel in Rome.
The organisers said the fair was arranged as part of the REHAB policy to promote the products and services of the REHAB members in abroad. The Rome fair has given the Bangladeshis living in Italy an opportunity to buy apartments and plots in their homeland through an one-stop service concept, they said.
When asked about the feedback of the fair, project leader Kazi Habibul Haque said the first ever housing fair in Rome has made the Bangladeshi expatriates aware of their possible investment opportunities in their home country. He said that the sale is expected to start within next three to four months as the potential buyers will take this time to finalise their decision after carrying out query after the fair.
In Italy, it is estimated that more than 0.01 million Bangladeshis are working both officially and unofficially.
The REHAB has so far organized housing fair in New York thrice and in London and Dubai each. It has plan to arrange another fair again in New York in next October 2007 and later on in Los Angels. There is also a plan to hold more fair in Italy too, said one of the organisers.
