Reject politics of conflicts: Raushan

Wednesday, 29 January 2014

Leader of the Opposition Raushan Ershad has urged all to leave behind hateful politics to work for Bangladesh.
In her address to the first session of the 10th Parliament Wednesday, the Jatiya Party leader paid respects to both the nation’s founder Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and freedom fighter Ziaur Rahman for their sacrifices. Ershad sat next to the Leader of the Opposition.
Leader of the House, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was also present during the Parliament’s maiden session. She thumped on her desk as Raushan spoke in a sign of approval, according to a news agency.
Raushan, a Presidium member for Jatiya Party, congratulated Bangladesh’s first woman Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury. “Let us all work together for the good of the country and its people,” she told Parliament.
