Rejig in top army ranks

A significant shake-up in the top ranks of the Bangladesh Army has been made in the changed political landscape of the country.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) disclosed the changes through a media release on Tuesday.
Maj Gen Ziaul Ahsan has been dismissed from his service. On the other hand, Lt Gen Md Saiful Alam has been reassigned to foreign ministry.
Meanwhile, Lt Gen Md Mojibur Rahman has been posted as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, Lt Gen Ahmad Tabrez Shams Chowdhury as Quartermaster General of the army.
Again, Lt Gen Mizanur Shamim has been appointed as the Army Chief of General Staff, Lt Gen Mohammad Shaheenul Haque as Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC).
On the other hand, Maj Gen ASM Ridwanur Rahman has been appointed as Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre (NTMC).
