Rejoinder 2024-05-18

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has sent a rejoinder on the content of the news item titled "Biman captain gets only letter of caution" published on May 13, 2024 in The Financial Express.
In the rejoinder the Biman said that departmental proceeding against the concerned pilot is still in the progression, so the information that a caution letter has been served on the pilot concerned is false.
It further said that information in the report that "Insurance company didn't bear any cost of repairing the engines since the damage caused to the engines was solely due to pilots' fault" is not true. In fact, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has recovered the compensation from the insurance company for the said incident, claimed the rejoinder.
The FE report was prepared on the basis of the findings of two separate investigation reports of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
