Relatives and party colleagues of detained ex-premier Sheikh Hasina are in the dark about her latest health condition as they said Square Hospital and jail authorities kept mum about her treatment for the last two days, reports UNB.
Hasina's personal physicians who examined her both at the makeshift jail and on the first day at the Square Hospital do not also know about her present treatment.
The ailing Awami League chief has been undergoing treatment at the Square Hospital since Tuesday. She is suffering from multiple health complications, including acute problem with her damaged ears.
Sources said an 8-member panel of physicians had been formed comprising doctors of the Square Hospital by replacing some doctors from the previous team.
Dr Ruhul Hasan Joarder will lead the medical panel instead of Square Hospital director Prof Sanwar Hossain. Others on the panel are Dr Hira Moni Sharma instead of Dr Shah Alam, Dr Ziaul Huque in place of Dr Mirza Nazimuddin, Dr Mijanur Rahman instead of Dr Touhiduzzaman and Dr Akter Hossain instead of Dr Millat, Dr Major (Retd) Ismail, Dr Sarwar-e-Alam and Dr Shahil Mahmud.
Hasina's personal physicians were barred from entering the hospital to meet her Wednesday.
Talking to the news agency Friday, presidium member of Awami League Amir Hossain Amu expressed his concern over the latest health condition of Sheikh Hasina.
"We can't understand what is happening," he said and demanded immediate implementation of his party's demand for sending Hasina to the USA for her ear treatment.
A large number of AL leaders and workers Friday gathered at the Square Hospital to know the condition of Hasina, but they failed. They prayed to Almighty Allah for her early recovery.
Party leaders Dr Mostofa Jalal Mohiuddin, Shahara Khatun, Dr Dipu Moni, Yafes Osman, MA Aziz and Quamrul Islam, among others, were in the waiting outside the hospital.
