Relatives seek approval to see Hasina
Friday, 20 July 2007
No visitors were allowed to see detained Awami League (AL) chief Sheikh Hasina until Thursday afternoon, reports bdnews24.com.
Sheikh Mili, Farida Sheikh and Sheikh Parul - first cousins to Hasina - and her protocol officer Manzila Faruque came to see her at her detention quarters on the Jatiya Sangsad premises.
But the police deployed there stopped the visitors entering the special jail where the former prime minister has been detained since July 16.
They were all waiting outside the security fencing until 1:28 pm for a police clearance.
