MAKING good result in the examinations is everyone's dream. The thought of how to fulfill this dream varies from student to student. Making good result depends on good preparation and that depends on preparation of good notes. Some prepare their own notes, many depend on notes that are found in the notebooks in the market or notes prepared by others-by the brilliant students of the current batch or of the previous years. Using notes prepared by others is very harmful and it rarely brings good result.
While checking answer scripts, the examiner expects that the language of the answers will be harmonious. A student who has memorised notes might find that he or she can answer some questions from what he or she has memorised and for the rest of the questions, he or she might have to make answers instantly on his or her own. In this way there can be variance in expression- somewhere the expression is very stylish and somewhere it is very poor. The examinee might get less marks if there is lack of harmony in expressions. In such cases, it will be difficult for the examinee to make good result.
While a student might expect to obtain first class marks by reproducing the 'good' notes, in reality that student might get third class marks. What happens is by memorisation students cannot have mastery over the subject and the result is that they make poor presentation in their exam scripts.
Collection of notes is also time-consuming. It is seen that students spend huge time in looking for, collecting and photocopying notes. If they would spend this time otherwise, in studying the subjects and preparing notes themselves, they could do much better in the exam.
What students lack while preparing their own notes is confidence. If they believe in their immense potential, which every human is born with, they would surely improve and be able to prepare their notes and will make good result in the examination.
Depending on notes prepared by others also kills one's originality. Since they depend on the notes prepared by others, they do not express in their own language, but just reproduce the note prepared by someone else. Depending on other's thoughts and not depending on one's own thought is very harmful for one's distinct performance in the examination.
When you are deciding to make your own notes, you will have to be ready to work hard. You will have to read a lot and you have to think a lot. Prepare notes on your own and show them to your teacher. Have confidence that you are sure to make good result in the examination.
