Minister for industries Dilip Barua urged the new generation to remain ever-vigilant to maintain the hard-earned independence of the country, as an evil force is still attempting to undo it.
"You the youths have to be careful always to protect the independence of the country, as an ill force couldn't stand the creation of Bangladesh in 1971 and can't also admit the same at present", Dilip Barua said.
He made the call while speaking as the chief guest at a function titled 'Let US Listen to the Tales of Liberation War' at the city's National Shishu Academy Tuesday.
Confidence, an anti-drug awareness and education movement organisation, organised the function in cooperation with Ashiyan City, Dilma Printers Ltd and Alfa Builders Ltd.
Dilip Barua said the fiery speech of March 7 of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was in fact a great source of inspiration for the nation to be free from the repression of the Pakistani occupation forces.
The industry minister said, "We achieve victory once and again but can't retain it, as it is often snatched away by a vested quarter. The new generation has to work with all to protect the freedom of the country."
Major Gen (retd) KM Safiullah Bir Uttam, Major Gen (retd) CR Dutta Bir Uttam and Lieutenant Colonel (retd) AW Chowdhury Bir Uttam made the students of several city schools listen to the tales of liberation war at the function.
Founder President of Confidence ATM Jashim Uddin and Channel i Director (news) Shykh Siraj also spoke on the occasion.
