Remittance flow shows encouraging sign

The inward remittance flow to the country during the first 14 days of the current month showed an encouraging sign, totalling $ 662.21 million as of March 14.
The remittance inflow last month (February) totalled $ 1164.03 $ million, according to the latest data provided by the Bangladesh Bank.
The central bank data also showed that some $ 14,461.14 million came as remittance in the last fiscal year (2012-13), according to a news agency.
Of the total remitted amount till March 14 of the current month, the highest $ 432.38 million came through the private commercial banks. This was followed by $ 214.08 million through four state-owned commercial banks, $ 8.23 million through four specialised banks and $ 7.52 million through foreign commercial banks operating in Bangladesh.
